October 2021 sees the delayed arrival of Expo 2020 in Dubai – the largest event of its kind to be held in the MENA region.

Across six months, Expo 2020 will showcase to best people, businesses and developments from around the world, with participants expected from over 190 countries.

For businesses and entrepreneurs in Dubai, it presents a huge opportunity to get in front of a vast and varied audience of potential customers, business partners, collaborators, suppliers, and more. Up to 25 million visitors are expected in the UAE over the course of the event.

What are the three themes of Expo 2020?

This year’s site is split across three themes or districts – Sustainability, Mobility, and Opportunity. Here’s what you can expect from each.

Sustainability District – What to expect?

Sustainability is a hotter topic than ever before. Business, nations, and individuals are striving to minimise waste, emissions and more in an effort to protect our precious planet.

In Expo 2020’s Sustainability District, you can find some the world’s most advanced technology, designed to help us achieve all these aims.

You can explore what countries around the world are doing to drive greater sustainability, and what the future may look like with nature and technology working together in harmony.

Attendees will be able to walk beneath solar energy and water condensing trees. And alongside the high-tech is water flowing through traditional falaj irrigation channels.

You can also get a close-up view of the coral reefs that are home to the hammour fish through the eyes of artists, scientists, and schoolchildren.

Mobility District – What to expect?

Our world is as connected as it has ever been. In the Mobility District, you can examine the ways that we connect with people, cultures, knowledge, and ideas.

In breaking down the divide between the physical and digital worlds, the Mobility District highlights the connections that contribute to an ecosystem where information, goods, and more are exchanged faster than ever before.

Visitors can ride in autonomous vehicles, and explore the latest developments in the space race, including the UAE’s National Space Programme. Each country exhibiting at the event will also have its own pavilion, in which contributors will showcase the very best and most unique mobility technology from their nation.

Opportunity District – What to expect?

The official Expo 2020 website introduces the Opportunity District with the following words:

“There’s a ripple effect in everything we do. Even one person can be the key to unlocking eight billion opportunities that can help individuals and communities create a better tomorrow, today. It’s time to unleash the potential within and be an agent of change.”

And the Opportunity District truly brings this lofty vision to life. Attendees can explore how our lives and actions are interconnected through a series of immersive exhibits and presentations.

Visitors are invited to interact and exchange ideas with the world’s leading changemakers and innovators. You can also participate in skill building activities and learn from a spectrum of people all of whom have a measurable impact on our daily lives.

Step 3:

Establishing a business in a free zone is often the most cost-effective approach. This way, you can benefit form the UAE’s 0% tax rate, as well as zero currency restrictions, profit and capital repatriation, and 100% customs tax exemption.

Whichever option you choose, you will need to supply the following documentation:
